The Carnegie Kids’ Club (CKC) is a community-based program designed to assist children with improvement in literacy skills with reading, writing, and creativity. In July 2020, CW piloted the first sessions over the course of six weeks. The sessions included a club process based on reading, movement, writing, and drawing. During each session, the club leader would read a book selection and members were able to engage with targeted comprehension questions. Based on the topic of the book, members participated in a movement activity to demonstrate their understanding of the content.
