Poetry Competition​​

 

The Voices of the New South Poetry Competition celebrates powerful, original voices from across the globe. In collaboration with Carnegie Writers and Music City Review, this competition invites poets to share compelling work that reflects the depth, diversity, and evolving narratives of the New South.

 

We welcome submissions from both emerging and established writers. Please review the guidelines carefully before submitting your work.

PROFESSIONAL READING EVENTS

Call for Readers

The Professional Reading Event (PRE) is a dynamic literary gathering that brings together writers, supporters, and community members to share diverse works with the public. We invite passionate readers to participate in this engaging celebration of literature across multiple genres. Interested participants are encouraged to apply for an opportunity to read their work. Space is limited, so early submission is strongly recommended.

SUMMER LITERACY ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM

The Literacy Achievement Program (LAP) is a free summer program for ages 5–18 focused on literacy, leadership, and creative writing. All youth have the opportunity to submit their work for publication in a student anthology, while older youth gain paid work experience.

Build foundational reading and writing skills through fun, interactive literacy activities and small-group instruction.​​
