Carnegie Kids' Club - Literacy Facilitator

Job Summary

Carnegie Kids Club (CKC) is a community-based program designed to assist children with improvement in literacy skills with reading, writing, and creativity. Children are recruited from schools and the community. Club sessions can occur virtually, in the community, and at schools. The schedule of sessions is based on the partnership for which the sessions are hosted. Sessions are facilitated by the Literacy Facilitator also known as the Club Leader who completes the CKB training. CKC evaluation process includes pre/post assessments from the learners. At the end of the sessions, learners contribute their writing and drawings to a collaborative anthology.

Teen Author Workshop - Writing Facilitator

Job Summary

The Teen Authors Workshop (TAW) is a writing workshop for teens who love to write or are interested in learning more about writing. During the workshop, writers will be introduced to the writing styles of poetry, article writing, short stories, and playwrights. Sessions will include icebreaker activities, free writing, progressive stories, team building, read-aloud, group discussion, and a guest speaker presentation. At the end of the workshop, participants will contribute their work to a published anthology. After the anthology is published, participants will be invited to do a public reading and book signing.
